I am listing this car as a "Project" car because it has been in enclosed storage since 2010. I do rotate the engine occasionally. The engine was rebuilt in 2010 but has not been started. There is oil in the car and the engine has been cycled to full pressure. The car is fully assembled and does not have fuel or water in it. It has the original Turbo charged Buick engine with an upgraded electronic ignition. All electrical in good working order. Documentation available See pictures.
This was one of the Mennard Team cars the 1993 Indy 500. The team that year was made up of Nelson Piquet, Eddie Cheever, Gary Bettenhauser, and Geoff Braham. Nelson Piquet ( former 3 time F1 Champion) did his rookie orientation in this car then 77. He went on to qualify 13 th for the 500. This was the highest Buick powered qualifying position of the grid. Nelson retired from the race with engine problems due to an over rev returning to the pits for a routine stop. Later in 1993 during practice at Indy Eddie Cheever ran laps in this car at a little 228 mph ave speed. The car was entered again in the Indy 500 in 1996 by Bridell Racing. It was driven by Tyce Carlson. He was only able to qualify 35 th and therefore did not make the field of 33. It ran several other Champcar events in 1996 and was purchased by Loophole Racing along with a number of other Menard cars. The car is currently in road racing configuration and has a Lee Braton prepared 209 ci Buick engine. It originally dyno end at 842 HP and over 500 ft/lbs of torque.
